Hunting Boots & Weatherproof Gear Built for the British Uplands

You know the drill – standing waist-deep in a Scottish peat bog at 5am, boots leaking before you've even reached your high seat, or fingers so numb you can barely work the rifle bolt after six hours on the hill.

British weather doesn't mess about, and standard hunting kit simply isn't up to the job. Whether you're stalking red stag across the Highlands, spending dawn 'til dusk on the grouse moors, or waiting motionless in a woodpigeon hide whilst horizontal rain hammers down – keeping warm and dry isn't about comfort, it's about whether you can actually do the job properly.

That's precisely why we've engineered Hillman hunting boots and technical clothing – kit that performs when British conditions are at their absolute worst. Featuring NASA-grade Aerogel insulation, Vibram Arctic Grip outsoles, and waterproof protection tested down to -30°C, Hillman delivers the reliability you need when you're putting in serious hours afield.

Hillman®

Invented to Elevate Your Hunt

About us

We've been making hunting gear for 20 years now, and honestly, we've seen some absolute rubbish out there. Boots that pack in after half a season. Jackets that let water through the moment you need them most. "High-tech" insulation that leaves you standing there freezing your bits off. We got fed up with it, to be honest. So we started Hillman to build gear properly.

We don't design this stuff at a desk and cross our fingers. Every piece gets absolutely battered in the field first. Freezing mornings. Long days through brutal terrain. The kind of conditions that destroy most kit. If it doesn't hold up, it doesn't leave our workshop.

Take our hunting boots. Aerogel insulation—the same stuff NASA developed for space missions—paired with Vibram Arctic Grip soles that actually grip on ice. Italian leather. A 1mm steel cable lacing system that won't snap. These aren't marketing tricks. They're answers to problems every proper hunter deals with.

What we're after is straightforward: make gear that works. Keep you warm when it's bitter. Keep you dry when it's chucking it down. Give you grip when it's slippery as hell. Let you focus on the hunt instead of messing around with dodgy kit.

That's Hillman®. No nonsense. Just gear that does what it's meant to.

FAQs

Absolutely. Every pair features a waterproof membrane that keeps your feet bone dry in proper British weather—heavy rain, boggy ground, stream crossings, you name it. We've tested them in everything from Highland downpours to Welsh hillsides. Your feet stay completely dry.
They run true to UK sizing. If you normally wear a size 10, order a 10. The design accounts for thick stalking socks without feeling cramped. If you're between sizes or have wider feet, go up half a size for comfort.
Absolutely. The NASA-grade Aerogel insulation keeps your feet warm in temperatures down to -30°C, whilst the Vibram Arctic Grip soles provide excellent traction on frozen ground and ice. Whether you're on the Cairngorms or the Pennines in winter, these boots are built for it.
A bit, yes. The Italian leather needs a few wears to properly mould to your feet. Wear them around for a few days before heading out for a long stalk. Nothing excessive—just enough to soften the leather and get them comfortable.
Clean off mud and dirt after each outing. Let them dry naturally away from direct heat—never stick them by a radiator or fire. Condition the leather every few months with a quality leather conditioner. Treat them properly and they'll last for years.
Absolutely. They're engineered for full days in the field—tramping through rough terrain, crossing burns, climbing steep hillsides. The support and cushioning hold up over long distances. Your feet won't be killing you by the end of a long stalk.
One year warranty against manufacturing defects. If there's an issue with materials or craftsmanship, we'll replace or repair it. Normal wear and tear isn't covered—these are stalking boots, they're meant to see proper use in the field.
Yes, we stock half sizes from UK 6 to UK 13. Getting the proper fit matters, so we make sure there's an option that works for you.
Orders ship within 1-2 business days. UK delivery typically takes 2-4 working days. You'll receive tracking information as soon as your order leaves our facility.
Definitely. Whether you're beating through thick cover, managing a shoot, or spending all day on your feet, these boots are built for it. The waterproofing, insulation, and grip make them ideal for any fieldsports work in British conditions.
